Small Groups

Small Groups are part of our Midweek Ministries and our Family Ministries

Spring Adult Small Groups will start the week of January 29th and run through the end of April. Groups meet throughout the week, in various locations, and cover different topics.

Fathers of Sons, with Pastor Brian. Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. at CBC.

This group will discuss how dads can lead our boys to follow Christ and develop godly Christian character. We will read and discuss Better Dads, Stronger Sons by Rick Johnson as well as pray for our sons and each other. This group meets on Wednesday nights and is open only to men who have sons. A group for fathers with daughters will be coming this summer.

Time in the Word & Fellowship, with Chris Smith. Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to11:00 a.m. at CBC.

This group is designated for men of all ages (16+) to come and meet together to independently spend time in the Bible.  After starting with time for fellowship, we will read through a brief devotion in the Book of Proverbs based on Calvary's NT17 daily devotion program.  From there, we will stay together but break off into our own independent Scripture reading at each man's pace and schedule.  No preparation time is needed and everyone can stay as long as he wishes.  The only requirement is to bring your own personal Bible.  This group will be especially good for any man who can't make mid-week evening ministries or who struggles to make time for regular Bible reading.

A Better Country: Preparing for Heaven, with Rich & Doris Phillips. Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Room 222/224, Book cost of $5 each.

Heaven as our Home: How do I live in this life in light of the fact that our true home is not on this earth but is in Heaven? Do I seek the most I can get out of this life (get all the gusto) OR do I store up my treasure in Heaven so that it is there when I arrive ("for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" - Mt 6:21). The heroes of the faith in Hebrews 11 knew this, for they "all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. ...  But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one." Join Rich & Doris as they lead a study about the magnificent home Jesus has prepared for us, "a better country".
