Day 2: Hebrews 4:14-16

Read: Hebrews 4:14-16 again.

An exhortation is milder than a command but much stronger than a recommendation and usually begins with the phrase “let us.” In verse 14, what exhortation does the author of Hebrews give us?

According to verse 14, what is that exhortation based on?

What word or words indicate the basis for the exhortation?

Since an exhortation is not a command, is it optional for us to obey? Why would the author of Hebrews use the language “let us” instead of “you must?”
